Thank you to my mom & some friends for the inspiration!

[mom]

“I am still willing to walk through doors that God opens– it is my life that is healing. God doesn’t seem to keep all the medicine in one medicine chest.

It just finished raining-it was a downpour- and now the birds are singing. “

[me] She loved people so much. And I’ll be a little songbird.

Matthew 10:27-31 NKJV

“Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops. And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

-Jesus

Lyrics:

The Roofing Gal knocked at the door,

Said “I remember this ache”.

We took a ride trading stories,

Of hearts that took a break.

Prayers felt stuck to the ceiling–

Tears kept soaking the floor.

If you’re the healer of the Broken,

What is all the waiting for.

God doesn’t keep all the medicine in one chest.

He scatters grace in places we could never guess.

Sometimes the answer comes from a hand of a friend-

or words from a stranger to help hurts mend.

Healing flowing through like living waters,

Poured out over His sons and daughters.

No single vessel holds it all.

His mercy rises even when we fall.

[And we’re waiting]

Then a man, I’d never seen before–

Reminded me what blank canvases can make

He used names of all the lives,

Bringing back color to what darkness tried to take.

When chaos swirls all around us–

Ripping our walls from the roof–

If you’re the Restorer and make all things new,

Paint in us a beautiful canvas by you.

She sat staring at her boxed up kitchen,

Told me the walls hugged her whole childhood.

Today she has to lock the door and walk forward to somewhere new.

Placing every part of herself into a God that’s Good

Her faith her only shelter–

Peace proclaimed from this old roof.

You promise to make all things new

Thank you Jesus who lights a way for the Truth.

A couple looked at me smiling across couch,

Telling me sometimes mess just takes a rest.

That love endures through the hardest night,

But it doesn’t love you less.

When life is unsure before us,

And the world starts to quake,

The Lord will be the Rock under us,

That will hold us through the break.
